Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Chicago, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Illinois run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 1 day a week. Typical hours are 8 AM–10 PM. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 73 reviews, which is a strong result for a pan-asian restaurant in Chicago and suggests consistent service.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. This Malaysian restaurant had some of the most authentic food I’ve ever tasted. We ordered the bee hun, nasi goreng pataya, and nasi paprik, and everything was seriously delicious. Even the kuih selection was amazing! I’d definitely come back again the next time I’m in town.

It's a gem on Devon Ave! There is no name or sign at storefront for this Malaysian restaurant. Sign is for another closed restaurant. So read the street numbers to get here. We ordered 2 drinks (Lime and grape juice), one soup, one snack, and two entrees. Lime juice was solid. Grape juice tasted like medicine. Soup was amazing. Two entrees, Nasi Goreng chili padi and Nasi Goreng paprik, was really good. Paprik was way too spicy (we eat a lot of spicy food) for us. Snack/appetizer from the showcase wasn't good. Total for all these items $41! It's so cheap. Restaurant is run by Rohingya Muslims from Malaysia. Everything is zabiha halal. It is a small family run restaurant where mother is the cook and kids are servers. Go for the taste not for the vibe!

Really yummy, authentic Malaysian food. Family owned business. Since the food is fresh, it took some time to come out (30 mins or more) so just keep that in mind if you’re in a rush. Spices and seasoned perfectly. Very reasonable prices, got three dishes for around $30. Cash or Zelle only until the POS system is up and running.

Delicious and very affordable! The people working there were so nice and helpful in explaining all the dishes and giving their recommendations. The drinks are a must have; I found them super refreshing and delicious. I got a nasi goreng kampung, a rose syrup lemonade, and a lemon ice tea. The total was $15 exactly, but do note that right now they can only take cash or Zelle. I’m definitely coming back to try more dishes.
